PURPOSE:To provide a device and method for navigation to select. the traveling route of the shortest time in a time zone during traveling from among plural traveling routes to a destination. CONSTITUTION:The receiving device 6 of a navigation device outputs satellite data A received by tracking a satellite to an arithmetic unit 7, and the arithmetic unit 7 calculates a position and time, etc., at present on the basis of the satellite data A, and outputs them as position.time information B to a trnsit time arithmetic unit 2. The transit time arithmetic unit 2 calculates the transit time of every time zone about each of the traveling routes to connect plural places on the basis of the position.time information B, and outputs them as transit time information C to a storage device 8. When a position signal F is inputted from an input device 3, the arithmetic unit 9 calculates time required and traveling distance from a present position to the destination corresponding to the present time zone for each of the plural traveling routes on the basis of the transit time information stored in the storage device 8, and selects the traveling route of the shortest time required, and displays route information G on a display device 11. |
