PURPOSE:To provide the low-priced infrared data communication equipment optimum for the respective environments of use. CONSTITUTION:Since an IC card interface 114 is provided at the infrared data communication equipment on the side of a personal computer, a user can additionally install an IC card type buffer RAM 115 as the optimum buffer memory corresponding to the environment of use. Since the personal computer and the infrared data communication equipment are connected by using an IC card interface 116 as a parallel interface at higher speed than the standard parallel interface of a conventional interface between the personal computer and a printer, data transfer speed is accelerated and the time for the personal computer to be occupied for print out processing can be shortened. Communication speed, print data size inside a communication packet and the parameter of buffer capacity can be changed by a dip switch 118, and the parameter optimum for the print out environment of each user can be set.
