PURPOSE:To provide a laser beam recorder capable of corresponding to the switch of recording density without adding new part and drive mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A ground plan of a rotary polygon mirror and sections of b-b line, c-c line are shown. The rotary polygon mirror is provided with reflection surfaces A, B with curvatures different from each other. In a shown example, the surface A is a plane, and the surface B is a cylindrical surface. When a beam outgoing from a laser light source not shown in figure is deflected by the surface B, and an image is formed on a photosensitive body, a beam size is enlarged compared with the case where it is deflected by the surface A, and the image is formed on the body. Thus, by selecting the reflection surface of the rotary polygon mirror according to the instructed recording density, the beam with the size suitable for the recording density is formed on the photosensitive body. |
