The appts. for continuously electroplating horizontally moving plane workpieces (20) consists of at least one galvanisation module (12) having at least one roll pair (18) with cathodic contact to the workpiece, and an electrolyte guide (36) with a small clearance at at least one side of the workpiece. The electrode guide accommodates at least one electrically contacted anode basket with an anode. The entire width of the workpiece (20) is covered by the length (L) of the electrode guide (36) whose height (H) is greater than its width (T) measured in the direction (22) of workpiece motion.
