Detector for determining signal signatures, esp. from IR radiation of target object

The detector has detector elements (14.1-14.n) for target signature determination, arranged in an imaging plane (12). Several detector elements of different geometry are arranged adjacent to each other in the scanning direction (15). Detector elements with relatively mutually uniformly changed geometry are arranged adjacent to each other. All of the detector elements have equal areas and are rectangularly bounded, with the ratios of the sides between 1:n and n:1, where n is equal to 5 or more and there are more than n detector elements.
