<p>This invention relates to a push button residual current device wherein a single pusch button is used to perform setting and testing operations on the device. More specifically, over the first part of the down stroke of the push button a test trip is initiated which will trip the device if it is functioning correctly. If the button is pushed further, and then released, the device goes into a state allowing current to pass, assuming that no trip condition is detected. Once the device is allowing current to pass, any fault causing the device to trip will result in the immediate disconnection of the power supply, irrespective of the state of the push button.</p> |
