The mechanism is intended for manual operation of a stopper rod which is normally operated by a hydraulic cylinder, and is joined (by means of a horizontal bracket) to the guide rod (11). The mechanism comprises a hand lever (13) and a double-arm lever (15) joined to the guide rod (11). The hand lever (13) at its end (21) is pivotably linked to the end (14) of the double-arm lever (15), so that a rigid connection between the hand lever and the double-arm lever can be made/broken by an upward/downward motion of the hand lever.
