Telecommunications installation with base unit and cordless transceiving unit

Besides the transceiving unit (2), the installation includes an aperture (120) and a reading unit for a commercial charge card (12) so that the owner can be debited with the charges incurred during communications. The base unit can be integrated into a public installation, e.g. call box or emergency call pillar. The base unit can be equipped with a multi-tasking system. The transceiver unit pref. has a range of roughly 500 metres w.r.t. the base unit.
