The cross-country ski has a ski binding, which is mounted so that it is not symmetrical relative to the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the skiing surface, but is preferably offset relative to the inside of the ski. Better bearing pressure ratios during herringbone and Siiton movements are achieved in this fashion, and the knee joint of the skier and/or the knee straps are subjected to less stress. Preferably, the ski itself is designed in such a way that the top of the ski, which is narrower than the skiing surface, is asymmetrical relative to the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the skiing surface. In one embodiment, the ski binding can be adjusted perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the ski.
