Both to improve drilling performance and simplify production, a drilling head consists of a tubular fitting (1) with a female thread (4) for securing to a drilling arbor or the like, to one end of which is fitted a bit (2), in which the bit (2) takes the form of an arrangement of individual cutting members (3, 3', 3") of square section fitted directly to the front end of the tubular fitting (1) and arranged in the form of an arrow in such a way that a cutting member extends at an angle to the cross-sectional plane containing the front of the tubular fitting (1), and one point (8) of which lies in the region of the axis (5) of the tubular fitting (1). The cutting members are solidly secured to the tubular fitting (1) and at least one fluid aperture (10) is bounded at the front of the drilling head by interstices in the cutting members. The material of the cutting members is the same as that of the tubular fitting (1) and consists of steel, in which the region of the bit (2) is hardened.
