A retractable handle device for a wheeled suitcase includes a frame member (2) having a pair of longitudinal grooves (21), and a handle member (3) having two first tubes (31) mounted securely in the grooves (21), at least one of the tubes (31) being provided with a plurality of longitudinally aligned holes (313), and a U-shaped handle with two opposed second tubes (32) inserted slidably in the first tubes (31). A spring-loaded projection member (6) is mounted to the first end of the second tube (32) which is enclosed by the first tube (31). A spring-biased actuating lever (4) is mounted pivotally to the U-shaped handle such that a front end of the actuating lever is located nearer to the second tube (32). A rigid connecting stick (5) connects the spring-loaded projection member (6) to the front end of the actuating lever (4), so that it can be retracted to permit relative movement of the tubes. <IMAGE> |
