The screen includes a thin layer of liquid crystal material deposited between a flat counter-electrode and electrodes arranged so that each of the pixels corresponds to a row and a column. Each electrode is connected to a control element. Each conductor affects a row of pixels in one line direction, and is common to a group of rows with a single attack circuit. The counter-electrode is divided into a number of parts with a single voltage switching device. The switching elements hold the counter-electrode at a given validation voltage, during the necessary period for the control. <IMAGE>
