PURPOSE:To provide a zirconic sintered compact using Nd2O3 as a stabilizer, and to provide a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION:The zirconic sintered compact contains ZrO2 as a main component, and Nd2O3, Al2O3 and SiO2 as stabilizers, or contains further a boron compound. Therein, the molar ratio of the Nd2O3/ZrO2 is 1/99 to 5/95, and the Al2O3, the SiO2 and the boron compound are added in amounts of 0.1-5mol.%, 0.05-1.5mol.% and 0.05-8mol.% (in terms of boron), respectively. The method for producing the zirconic sintered product comprises preparing such a raw material compound as giving the composition of the zirconic sintered product, calcining the compound at 500-1200 deg.C, grinding the calcined product, molding the raw material powder, and subsequently sintering the molded product at 1300-1650 deg.C. Thereby, the zirconic sintered compact excellent in thermal stability and mechanical characteristics can be provided. Especially, the zirconic sintered compact substantially not causing the deterioration of the sintered compact even when used for a long time in the atmosphere, water or steam at 200-300 deg.C can be provided. |
