The device comprises a component which has a support base for fastening it to the rod and a main portion provided with a longitudinal through drill hole containing removable elastic means, which comprises a rocking rod at the front end of the drill hole and a screw which engages in the rear end of said drill hole and compresses the elastic means against said rod, which rod has, at one end, a cam surface which establishes contact with the elastic means and, at the other end, it has a peg provided with an annular groove in which the fishing-line rests as it exits the reel. The elastic means consist of a spring and they hold the rod elastically in position under tension through the action of the screw until the tension in the fishing-line exceeds said elastic tension. The component and the screw are moulded and the rod is metallic. <IMAGE>
