PRODUCTION OF SINTERED COMPACT BY HOT ISOTROPIC PRESSURE TREATMENT

PURPOSE:To enhance shielding effect of a capsule to high pressure gas and enhance deformation preventing effect in hot isotropic pressure(HIP) treatment without impairing shaping property to a material to be baked in glass capsule HIP method. CONSTITUTION:A glass capsule 3 in which powder or an already formed material 1 to be baked is degassed and sealed is installed in a sheath 4 for baking having side height higher than the upper end of the capsule and a reaction preventing material 5 not reacting with any of the capsule 3 and sheath 4 for baking is inserted at the height up to the upper end of the capsule 3 or above between the capsule and the upper part of sheath bottom and between the side of the sheath and the side of the capsule so as not to move installed capsule. The material is subjected to HIP treatment to produce the objective sintered compact.
