PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric porcelain composition comprising a specific compound as a main component and prescribed compounds as sub-components, improved in sinterability, and having crystal particle diameters corresponding to resonance frequency. CONSTITUTION:The piezoelectric porcelain composition comprises a compound of the formula (0.01<=x<=0.40) as a main component and CuO, Fe2O3 and MnO2 as sub-components in amounts of 0.05-2.5wt.%, 0.01-0.5wt.% and 0.05-0.2wt.%, respectively, based on 1 mole of the main component. The piezoelectric porcelain composition is obtained by adding 0.01-0.5wt.% of the Fe2O3 and 0.05-2.0wt.% of the MnO2 to 1 mole of the main component, calcining the raw material powder mixture, adding 0.05-2.5% of CuO to the calcination product, molding the mixture, and subsequently baking the molded product. |
