PURPOSE: To fix a fuel injection start time in every injection by moving a valve element between a first position allowing fluid coupling of a first conduit to a second conduit through a flow passage and a second position allowing fluid isolation of the first conduit from the second conduit. CONSTITUTION: In a first position of this valve, right end parts of a valve element 92 contact with a housing part 86, while hydraulic fluid from a bore 78 flows to a bore 50 through a hydraulic fluid passage comprising an annular recessed part 110 and an annular space 124 to operate a piston 132 in a pump assembly 18. In the first position, the valve element 92 completely blocks an upper opening of a bore 83. In a second position, left end parts of the valve element 92 contact with a housing part 84, while the hydraulic fluid from the bore 50 flows to the bore 83 through a hydraulic passage comprising the annular space 124 and an annular recessed part 120 to flow out of the pump assembly 18 after the operation of the piston 132. In the second position, the valve element 92 completely blocks a lower opening of the bore 78. |
