SEALING DEVICE FOR END OUTER SURFACE OF LONG-SIZE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To tightly seal the end of a long-size material which has a rough surface and rotates in the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:A fixed sealing means 22 is mounted on the outside of the end of a long-size material 1 and a rotary sealing means 21 is mounted on the outside of the means 21. The fixed sealing means 22 has a circumferential groove 22f in the form of a trapezoid that opens inwards. An elastic seal ring 22e of a flat cross section that makes contact with the outer surface of the end of the long-size material 1 is mounted in the circumferential groove 22f. An elastic seal ring 22c is compressed by a clamping member 22d in the direction of the axis of the ring to seal the outer surface of the end of the long-size material 1 in position. The outer surface of the fixed sealing means 22 is precision finished, and is rotated and sealed by the rotary sealing means 21.
