PURPOSE:To obtain a safe intraocular lens which is extremely easy to mount by projectingly providing the peripheral side of the lens body of the intraocular lens to be mounted at the anterior chamber of the eye with supporting legs which are engageable and supportable into the ciliary groove through the fine incision wound formed in the peripheral part of the iris. CONSTITUTION:This intraocular lens 1 is composed of the disk-shaped lens body 2 which forms an optical part and the supporting legs 3 to 6 which are projectingly disposed upward and downward of the peripheral side thereof. These supporting legs 3 to 6 are gently curved backward at the side face and further, the front ends are bent to form detaining parts 31, 41, 51, 61. The microincision wound 10 to be passed with the supporting legs 3 to 6 is formed through the cornea 11 in the peripheral part of the iris and the lens body 2 is inserted into the anterior chamber of the eye through the supporting legs 3 to 6 of the incision wound 10. In addition, the detaining parts 31, 41, 51, 61 at the front ends of the supporting legs 3 to 6 are detained to the ciliary groove through the peripheral part 8 of the iris, by which the intraocular lens 1 is inserted into the interior chamber of the lens. |
