PRODUCTION OF ALKALI METAL-SUPPORTING SAMARIUM OXIDE CATALYST

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst high in C2 selectivity and C2 yield in the production of ethane and ethylene from methane by an oxidative coupling reaction and having a long durable life. CONSTITUTION:A mixed soln. of an alkali metal alkoxide (e.g. lithium methoxide) and samarium acetate or acetylacetonatosamarium is heated to be evaporated to dryness and the formed dried matter is baked and ground to obtain a catalyst (Li-Sm2O3 catalyst). Methane is brought into contact with this catalyst to produce ethane and ethylene by an oxidative coupling reaction.
