<p>PURPOSE:To detect a sheet material in a short time even if any sheet material is carried by moving a detecting means to detect a means to adjust a posture and a position of the sheet material according to a maximum one and a minimum one in a size width of the sheet material housed in a cassette. CONSTITUTION:A pinion 4 to transmit motive power from a stepping motor is meshed with a rack 5a, and a photosensor 2 is arranged on the tip of a sensor moving member 5 movable in the arrow B direction. The size of a sheet material in a cassette is detected before a start button is pushed, and a maximum one and a minimum one in the axial directional size (a width) is found out among them. For example, in the case of A4 (a maximum width) and A4R (a minimum width), the photosensor 2 is moved to a position (a first HP) like {(a width of A4)-(a width of A4R)}divided by 2=1a=1b. Afterward, when a copy button is pushed, a sheet material complying with a document is fed from the cassette.</p> |
