PURPOSE: To provide a balloon catheter, which is flexibly used, easily manufacturable, and easily usable, for treating a body vessel by ionized radiation. CONSTITUTION: This balloon catheter as a medical apparatus is equipped with a catheter tube 1 whose tip end side is surrounded by a slender expandable balloon 2. A pare 3 in the longitudinal direction penetrate through the catheter tube 1 and positions a radiation emitter 5 in the balloon. The catheter tube 1 is equipped with a second pore 4 for guiding expanding fluid into the balloon 2. A belt means 7 to form a waist part is equipped around the periphery of the balloon 2. The belt means 7 restricts the balloon 2 to almost the diameter of the catheter tube 1 to form a small passage 8 for the expanding fluid and divides the balloon 2 into some parts and make the catheter tube 1 be shrink-fit at the center in the balloon 2. |
