PURPOSE:To make action of an air bag device rapid and sure so as to prevent and reduce collision injury of an automobile by setting a two-point support straight-traveling type cylindrical inertial weight as a detection function part. CONSTITUTION:In a two-point support straight-traveling type cylindrical inertial weight for impact detection, a coaxial front part cylinder 1 and the rear part cylinder 2 are supported by a front part weight receiver 3 and a rear part weight 4 respectively. On the other hand, sectional shape of the weight body part is not restricted, however, adoption of a cylindrical shape facilitates weight processing. And laying of an spacer, or a ring 5 for eliminating play and aperture, between the rear part cylinder front end and the rear part weight receiver 4 allows to perform positioning of the inertial weight. Impact inertial force of the weight unlocks a hammer 27 for opening a gas cylinder so as to open the gas cylinder 12 and in the case of occurring collision, an air bag is operated by taking gas sent from the gas cylinder 12 in the impact detector. Performance and safety of the air bag device can be thus improved. |
