PURPOSE:To obtain a rare earth element-contg. oxide superconductor having high current density. CONSTITUTION:This rare earth element-contg. oxide superconductor is represented by the formula REBa2Cu3Ox (where RE is two or more kinds of elements selected from among Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu) and the mean value of the trivalent ionic radii of the elements RE is within the range of 0.10350-0.10395nm or the range of 0.10405-0.10409nm. Application especially to a melting method is useful and the characteristics of a current lead, a magnet utilizing the pinning of magnetic flux and a magnetic shielding system can be improved by this superconductor. |
