PURPOSE:To do stable plating in a trivalent chromium bath. CONSTITUTION:An electrode having a coating of an electrode catalyst consisting of iridium oxide formed on a substrate made of a thin film forming metal such as titanium is used as an anode, thereby chromium plating and barrel chromium plating stable over a long period of time is attained without hexavalent chromium being formed in a plating bath.
