PURPOSE:To reduce the cost by horizontally installing a shield machine at a vertical shaft bottom section after a vertical shaft is excavated in the ground while the shield machine is set downward, and horizontally advancing the shield machine from this position. CONSTITUTION:After a shield machine 10 is inserted downward into a hole 46, a cutting wheel 2 and a planetary cutter 7 are driven, the tare weight of the shield machine 10 is used as the propelling force to excavate a vertical shaft, and the inner face is covered with a caisson 45. The shield machine 10 is hoisted on the ground, it is set to the horizontal state, then it is installed at the bottom section of the vertical shaft. Since the plane shape of the shield machine 10 is set to the shape smaller by a size than the nearly rectangular maximum excavation cross section by the shield machine 10, the shield machine 10 can be inserted into the vertical shaft in the horizontal state. Part of the caisson 45 is removed, the cutting wheel 2 and planetary cutter 7 are operated, and the shield machine 10 is advanced in the horizontal direction. A shield machine dedicated to a vertical shaft can be omitted, and execution can be quickly conducted at a low cost. |
