PURPOSE: To provide a sealing system capable of preventing the air from flowing into a housing in stop of a pump and preventing the comparatively hard particles included in a medium from reaching between a closure ring and a shaft when the medium is sent out by the pump. CONSTITUTION: A sealing system for leading a rotating shaft such as the shaft 2 of a pump or a similar apparatus through a stationary wall 1 in which the pressure at one side of the wall differs from that at the other side of the wall, comprises at least two closures rings 4, 9, 12 mounted around the shaft and consisting of rubber or a similar flexible material, and each of closure rings comprises a substantially radial collar 5 capable of being fixed to the wall and a lip 6 extending from the collar and lying against the shaft 2. The lip 6 of at least one main closure ring 4 faces the part of the shaft 2 being at the lowest pressure such as the atmosphere during normal use of the apparatus concerned. |
