The disclosure relates to an inductor (1) for induction welding of a pre-cut packaging material (9) in which the sealing region is restricted. The inductor (1) has, in a first plane (6), two equally wide conductors (3, 4), while the second conductor (4) is of considerably greater extent in a second plane (7) at right angles to the first plane (6).
