The application relates to a device for the compounding and extrusion of viscous, elastic, plastic and similar materials having a plurality of screw shafts (2, 3) rotating in a common housing (1). This device is to be designed in such a manner that the resistance to which the material to be processed in the device is subjected can be sensitively controlled without the material being subjected to impermissibly severe stressing. The screw-shaft extruder therefore has an enlarged radial play (8, 9) in the region of the saddle over a relatively large length of the housing, which play is disposed upstream or downstream of the deflection in the region of the saddle acting as a natural throttle. <IMAGE> |
