PURPOSE: To provide a transmission for vehicle of easy inching operation. CONSTITUTION: An impeller clutch 116 of a torque converter 106 connects an impeller element 108 to a rotary housing 107. The impeller clutch electrohydraulic valve 120 produces fluid flow to the impeller clutch to engage and disengage the impeller clutch. A torque converter sensor 130 detects an output speed of the torque converter. The engagement force of the impeller clutch is PI (proportional integral) controlled to obtain a value corresponding to the pedaling amount of an operator on the basis of the output speed of the torque converter.
