PURPOSE:To quickly report an authenticity discrimination result by visually confirming a microcharacter by a magnifying lens, irradiating true paper money with light, developing a color development material, performing visual confirmation, leading color development light to a photodetector by a half mirror, amplifying it and reporting it. CONSTITUTION:A first lens 4 is looked into and whether or not the microcharacter 1 is printed is visualized by a magnified character. In this case, counterfeit paper money is judged when the microcharacter 1 is not present. Further, the stamp part of indistinct paper money 3a is magnified through the half mirror 7 by a second lens 5 and visualized. Then, it is visually confirmed that the color development light 2a is the color development light 2a of the true paper money 3 at the time of irradiating a light emitting material 2 with irradiation light 5a. The authenticity is judged by the color development amount and hue of the color development light 2a. Further, the color development light 2a is reflected and bent by the half mirror 7, received by the photodetector 6 and transmitted to an amplifier 8.
