In an automatic gramophone of the kind described in Specification 693,594, the multiabutment surfaced slide 26 of that Specification is replaced by a lever 22 having a single upper abutment surface which engages stepped circular abutment surfaces on a detent member 28. A torsion spring 36 replaces the tension spring 35 of the above-mentioned Specification.
