PURPOSE:To quickly estimate the in-focus position of an electronic camera. CONSTITUTION:Fourier transformation data of actual image data are divided by the Fourier transformed value of the point image distribution function at each lens position, which is obtained by changing the lens position to plural positions, to obtain Fourier transformed data of a restored picture for each lens position. Low frequency components are extracted from data in respective lens positions, and their proportions are compared to calculate the evaluation values of the in-focus position, and evaluation values are compared to estimate the in-focus position. Thus, the in-focus position is estimated more quickly than the method where the in-focus position is evaluated after restored image data is obtained by inverse Fourier transformation. |
