<p>PURPOSE:To provide an on-vehicle radar equipment which can detect a target with high reliability and high accuracy even when a plurality of targets exist. CONSTITUTION:An FM-CW radar equipment is constituted of a transmission antenna 1, directional coupler 2, oscillator 3, modulator 4, modulation control circuit 5, reception antenna 6, mixer 7, signal processing circuit 8, and output circuit 9 and the circuit 8 analyzes beat signals by using the FFT system, calculates the distance to and relative speed of a target, and issues an alarm when a dangerous state is expected. The radar equipment alternately repeats the setting of a higher modulation frequency at which the distance accuracy can be improved near the target and setting of a lower modulation frequency by periodically switching the modulation frequency. Therefore, a plurality of targets, from a far target to a near target, can be discriminated with high accuracy.</p> |
