PURPOSE:To improve print quality and paper feed reliability and resolve the dispersion of the image tip by adjusting the image tip on an image carrier and the image record position of the paper for each print mode. CONSTITUTION:The size, thickness, and moisture content of the paper fed by the actions of tray feed units 4-8 are detected by sensors S1-S6. An image output control circuit board 1 finely adjusts the normal values of the tip registration adjustment, side registration adjustment, and loop quantity adjustment for each print mode according to respective adjustment values for each print mode based on the detected values and printing conditions. Values after adjustment are set to registers of respective adjusting means to control the adjusting means. For side registration adjustment, for example, the values are set to the register of an interface (ROS ASIC) controlling a laser writing device to control the laser writing timing. Since the image position adjustment is made for each print mode, the print quality and paper feed reliability is improved, and the dispersion of the image tip can be prevented. |
