SIMPLE MATRIX DRIVING TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide a simple matrix driving type liquid crystal display device of a high fineness type which assigns intensity levels at a large display capacity by facilitating a stage for sticking upper and lower substrates and improving a contrast and to provide the same production. CONSTITUTION:This simple matrix driving type liquid crystal display device is constituted by arranging a lower substrate 21 and an upper substrate 22 via liquid crystals. The device is provided with the lower substrate 21 which has lower light shielding layers 41 consisting of metallic thin films formed in the positions corresponding to the spacings between adjacent striped electrodes (display signal electrodes) 31 and the upper substrate 22 which has the upper light shielding layers 42 consisting of the metallic thin films formed in the positions corresponding to the spacings between the adjacent striped electrodes (scanning signal electrodes) 32.
