PURPOSE:To provide an imaging device and liquid crystal display device which have excellent resolution from a central part to peripheral parts, are formable to a smaller thickness and permit enlargement or reduction. CONSTITUTION:This imaging device has a convergent light transmission body array 16 which is formed by arranging many transparent convergent light transmission body elements having the refractive indices changing in a radial direction to a parabolic form adjacently in proximity to each other in an array form or plane form by respectively paralleling their incident end faces and exit end faces and satisfy unmagnified erecting imaging conditions and a lens 18 arranged on the exit surface side of the array. The device is so constituted that the shape of the lens has curvature at the incident surface within a range of 13 to 40 deg. of the exit light of the lens. the exit surface is plane.
