<p>PURPOSE:To impart stable triboelectric chargeability to a toner based on a resin binder, a colorant and an electric charge controlling agent and to remarkably suppress a variation of the chargeability due to environment by further incorporating an electric charge controlling agent whose polarity is reverse to that of the toner into the toner. CONSTITUTION:In a toner based on a resin binder, a colorant and a positive or negative electric charge controlling agent, an electric charge controlling agent whose polarity is reverse to that of the toner is used in combination. Any conventional electric charge controlling agent may be used as the positive or negative electric charge controlling agent and the amt. of this agent used depends on the kind of the resin binder, the presence of additives used at need and a method for producing the toner including a dispersing process. The electric charge controlling agent whose polarity is reverse to that of the toner is used by 0.1-1 pt. wt., preferably 0.2-0.5 pt.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the resin binder. Polystyrene, poly-p-chlorostyrene or a mixture of them may be used as the resin binder.</p> |
