The cover, esp. for a seat which can be folded in sections to increase the area of the rear luggage space, is made in two parts (a, d) for the seat back and base. Each part is divided into sections (4a, 4b; 5a, 5b) corresponding to the size of the folding seat sections, and the edges of the cover sections are fitted with sliding clasp fasteners (C, D) which allow them to be separated for folding the seat sections and joined when the seat is in its upright position. The cover can have two or more fasteners - which can be in the form of self-adhesive strips - for the seat back and base parts, depending on the configuration of the seat.
