The assembly includes a fixed component (12) rigidly attached to the clutch casing (1), and cooperating with a movable clutch release fork (3a,b) attached at one end (9a,b) to the clutch cable. The other end (8a,b) of the fork bears against a clutch release member (7a,b). A ball (13) attached to the fixed component engages within a socket (4a,b) of the fork to form a pivot joint between them. The ball is carried on a fixed axis rigidly secured to the clutch casing, and the socket may be attached to or embedded in the surface of the fork, secured e.g. by rivets (15). The ball and socket may be formed of the same or different materials, and may include an intermediate friction element located between their cooperating surfaces.
