The assembly consists of a rotary pump (5), which is driven by a motor, with both parts being mounted within a common case (7). The case is closed by a cap (15) which is sealed into the end of the case by clenching, with an annular sealing ring (21) fitted between the base plate (9) of the pump and the internal wall of the case. The annular sealing ring is mounted on the base plate and on the cap so as to present a triangular profile, with the peak of the triangle directed radially outwards. The base (29) of the triangle faces towards the interior of the case and sits on the bottom of an annular groove (23). The base has a face which is concave towards the interior of the case.
