PURPOSE:To provide a DC brushless motor which can hold a stop position without using a mechanical brake. CONSTITUTION:A rotation control part 7 which uses outputs eu to ew of a position detector 3 detecting the polarity of a magnetic pole for a rotor as inputs and which generates positional signals eu' to ew', a motor drive part 4 by which an exciting current is made to flow to a drive coil at a prescribed phase according to the state of the positional signals and an output control part 12 which controls the magnitude of the exciting current are installed. The rotation control part 7 gives, to the motor drive part 4, the positional signals eu' to ew' in the same state as the outputs eu to ew of the position detector when a rotation instruction is given, and it fixes the state of the signals so as to stop a motor when a stop instruction is given. After the motor has been stopped, a holding current which is limited to a value smaller than that in an operation is made to flow to the drive coil at a phase which has been excited in its stop, and a stop position is held. |
