PURPOSE:To obtain a channel switch having simple structure and applicable to a fine channel by freezing and thawing a part of the channel and subjecting the liquid flow to switching control thereby switching the channel. CONSTITUTION:The channel switch 1 comprises a thin coupling pipe 6 which can be coupled selectively with independent channels 2-5. The selective coupling of the thin pipe 6 and the channels 2-5 is controlled through freezing/thawing sections 7-10 disposed at the ends of the thin pipe 6 or the channels. A controller section 11 controls the magnitude and direction of a current being fed to the freezing/thawing section thus controlling the temperature thereat. When the sections 7, 8(9, 10) are thawed and the sections 9, 10 (7, 8) are frozen through the controller section 11, the channels 2, 3(4, 5) are communicated through the thin pipe 6 to produce a flow in the direction A(B). Consequently, a liquid flowing in the direction A through the thin pipe 6 can be introduced into the liquid flowing in the direction B and the flow rate is determined by the internal volume of the thin pipe 6. This structure realizes switching of fine channels having inner diameter of 100mum or less. |
