PURPOSE:To obtain the image processing unit or the like in which a scramble function or a function for image processing are optionally revised without replacement of a ROM of the image processing unit. CONSTITUTION:The image processing unit 1 uses an image processing circuit 6 to apply prescribed image processing to image data received from an external device 3 and a data scramble circuit 7 applies scrambling to image data subject to image processing according to scramble information received from a control section 15 of an image forming device 2. The image forming device 2 uses a data scramble circuit 18 to release scrambled data received from the image processing unit 1 according to the scramble information and forms an image based on image data obtained by a printer engine 19.
