PURPOSE:To produce a color filter with which light leakage is well prevented and which is bright in coloration and has excellent optical characteristics and a liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION:A substrate provided with laminated layers having a circuit-like transparent conductive layer 2 formed on a lower layer and a photoresist layer 3 on the upper layer thereof is formed. The surface of these transparent conductive layers is exposed to a fine piece form by stages (e) (c). The photoresist layers of sealing parts are made to remain; (f) colored coating films 9 are formed by electrodeposition on the exposed transparent conductive layers and the surface of the substrate 1 which has the fine pieces-shaped color coating films and is exposed with the spacings therebetween and a substrate which is a transparent conductive layer are formed by stages (g) (e); (h) a negative type resist layer 10 is formed over the entire surface of the substrate exclusive of the sealing parts; (i) the negative type resist layer is exposed from the rear surface of the substrate and is developed, by which the remaining resist layer is cured and (j) the photoresist layers of the sealing parts are then removed at need. |
