PURPOSE:To perform efficient edition in consideration of attribute information in the information editing device on a multiwindow system. CONSTITUTION:An input operation part 1 accepts input from a keyboard, etc. A window storage part 2 stores window arrangement information for arranging windows and objects to be edited on a screen, attribute information on the objects to be edited, and information specifying an object which is currently edited and a current editing window. A display part 3 displays the windows. An edited object attribute extraction part 4 extracts the attribute information on the object to be edited. An edited object evaluation part 5 finds the evaluated value of the object to be edited. A window selection part 6 selects the object to be edited on the basis of its evaluated value. A window management part 7 informs the window storage part 2 of window display input and the edited object attribute extraction part 4 of window selection indication input.
