<p>PURPOSE:To prevent pseudo locking at the time of variable reproduction tracking by controlling the polarity of a tracking signal in accordance with the pull-in direction of a head scanning direction to a track for variable speed reproduction and the result of identification of the pilot signal frequency reproduced by a head just before the extreme proximity to this track. CONSTITUTION:A polarity discriminating means 33 detects the direction of the phase pull-in control by a track error detecting means 15, identifies the polarity of an error signal eN and outputs an identification signal eP of H when eN is positive and of L when negative. Namely, the identification signal eP of the H is outputted when the phase pull-in control by a means 15 for the track for variable speed reproduction is positive and of the L when negative. A frequency discriminating means 31 identifies the frequency of the reproduced pilot signal at the tracking error signal detection timing at the time the track imkmediate before one track of the track for variable speed reproduction is scanned by the head for detecting the tracking error signal. This means outputs an identification signal ef of L if this frequency is f1 and of H if f2. A timing signal generating means 32 outputs a signal ES for controlling the error signal polarity of a tracking error detecting circuit 18 according to signal eP, ef.</p> |
