PURPOSE:To provide a method for manufacturing a TmBa2Cu3O7-x wire rod having excellent superconductivity (Jc is 15000A/cm<2> or more). CONSTITUTION:Respective powders of oxide, carbonate, nitrate or chloride of Tm, Ba and Cu are mixed such that Tm:Ba:Cu becomes 1:2:3 so as to obtain mixed powder. A wire rod is processed by applying the above mixed powder on a silver tape or filling the powder in a silver sheath and the wire rod is pressed or rolled to form in a tape shaped wire rod. The tapeshaped wire rod is once heated to 930-945 deg.C in atmosphere where oxygen partial pressure is 0.003-0.03 atmospheric pressure and then it is cooled to at least 900 deg.C in cooling speed of 0.1-10 deg.C per hour. |
