<p>PURPOSE:To provide an A/D converter which can simplify its hardware constitution and also can set its resolution as desired. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 13 outputs a signal having its highest bit of an 'H' level to a D/A converter 12 from a data output part 14 and sets other bits at 'L' levels. The converter 12 converts the digital data received from the part 14 into an analog signal Vo. A comparator 11 compares an analog signal Vi supplied from the outside with the signal Vo received from the converter 12 and outputs the signals of '+' and '-' when the signal Vi is larger and smaller than the signal Vo respectively Then the microcomputer 13 decides whether the output of the comparator 11 is '+' or not and then sets the corresponding bit of the part 14 at an '+' level when the output of the comparator 11 is '-'. Thereafter the same processing is repeated down to the lowest bit.</p> |
