PURPOSE:To simply provide an automatic answering function by adding a memory for storing the small capacity of a response message and any simple circuit at the image communication terminal of a video telephone or the like. CONSTITUTION:A mode switching part 16, message memory 19 for storing the response message, superimpose part 20 for inserting the response message to a transmitted image, and first control part 18 for performing various kinds of control in an automatic answering mode are added to the configuration of the image communication terminal provided with no automatic answering function. Therefore, the low-priced and compact picture communication terminal can be provided, further, a memory for image storage can be efficiently utilized and optimum still picture fetching timing can be set. |
